A new innovation called vertical camping offers one way to commune with nature and simultaneously avoid becoming a snack for some of nature's meat eaters.

Designed by Antwerp-based design firm Import Export Architecture, the five-floor, pre-fabricated structure allows campers to enjoy the wild from the safety of a perch high above any unexpected surprises. The structures went on display not long ago at the OutCities project in Copenhagen, Denmark.
