Turns out those old alkaline batteries can be recharged

The packaging on AA and AAA alkaline batteries always warn you never to recharge them when they've reached their end, but it turns out they can be; as long as you have a special charger.

The WattsClever alkaline battery charger uses a "microprocessor to minutely control the trickle charge so the batteries don't overheat and die." Based on a batterie's age and quality, AA or AAA alkaline batteries can be re-juiced anywhere from 10-20 times. If you've also got Ni-Cd or Ni-MH batteries sitting around, the WattsClever recharger can handle those too. Used batteries can be recharged in four hours.

There's no mention about how many minutes or hours each recharge can hold, so purchase at your own risk. If squeezing every ounce of juice out is important to you, the WattsClever alkaline battery charger can be yours for $46.
