DARPA announces XC2V 'crowdsourced' vehicle competition winners

DARPA decided to take a stab at crowdsourcing a new concept vehicle on a common chassis designed for both combat reconnaissance and combat delivery & evacuation. They allowed the public to provide feedback and vote on different proposals, and here are the winners.

First place went to FLYPMODE, pictured above, which featured lots of reconfigurable, modular options. As the winning design, it's actually going to be turned into a fully functional concept car by June.

In the gallery, we've got pics of the second and third place winners and a bunch of other designs that, while pretty cool, didn't quite make the cut.
