Real-time voice translator smashes down language barriers
Tuesday, February 1, 2011 - 2:22am
If you travel to different countries a lot, you know that language barriers can be a real problem when trying to do things overseas. This real-time voice translator from Samsung aims to end that problem, by translating your spoken words and displaying them as text on a transparent screen.
The translator is being developed by Samsung Mobile Display, and uses a two-sided transparent AMOLED screen that lets you maintain eye contact with the other person as they read your translated words.
Like so many cool things the translator is just a concept for now, but with Samsung's resources behind the project it could become reality sooner than you think.
