Image of the Day: Human Connectome Project maps the mind

Scientists at Harvard, UCLA, University of Minnesota, and Washington University have been mapping the human mind — by studying mice brains in 29.4 nanometer slices. Dubbed the Human Connectome Project (HCP), the ultimate goal is to create a map of the entire brain, allowing scientists to navigate through and better understand how the mind works.
