It's been a long time coming, but it looks like the six-wheeled Covini C6W supercar is finally gearing up for production.
Taking its inspiration from the 1976 Tyrrell P34 Formula One race car, the Italian made Covini has two axles in the front to provide more grip, better braking, greater resistance to aquaplaning, and improved crash protection. Power comes from a 4.2 liter Audi V-8 that delivers 433 horsepower.
Like many first efforts, the Covini has taken a long time to get to this point, with the first pictures having appeared over six years ago. Now company founder Ferrucchio Covini says that a production car will be shown this weekend at the Racing Professional Motor Show in Bologna Italy.
I wonder if this is a better idea than going with fewer wheels?
