Before we get full-fledged android helpers we're more likely to see single-function robots like the Tvor, the A.I.-powered assistant that works tirelessly to fight the darkness.

Developed by Czech design student Jindrich Vodicka, the Tvor is programmed to constantly look for dark areas in any space and shine its light in that direction, after which it moves on in search of more dark spots. Vodicka used the Arduino open-source electronics prototyping platform to develop the robot's functions. Winner of the Czech National Award for Student Design 2010 you can see the Tvor in action in the video below.
