Next-gen 3D technology will go easy on your eyeballs

Get ready for another 3D technology that will try to blow your visual cortexes all over over again. LG has a new 3D display technology that will attempt to improve a few critical areas of 3D that have made the format so bothersome.

LG's Film-type Patterned Retarder (FPR) 3D technology will supposedly reduce the weight of 3D glasses, kill flickering images and deliver a brighter screen. All three of these "issues" are things that most of us can attest to when consuming 3D content.

In addition to "fixing" those problems, LG's FPR 3D tech will also reduce eyestrain. It sounds like a great plan, especially for those who already wear regular glasses.
