Translation software just became a whole lot less banal. Using an iPhone's camera to augment reality, this nifty app for the iPhone translates any text thrown at it in real-time.

Actually, there isn't much to the Word Lens app — point your camera at a sign in a different language and boom, the text is translated on your iPhone.

At the moment, the app only translates words from Spanish to English and vice-versa. Imagine how language barriers will crumble when we get Chinese, French and German to English.

For $5, the app is a steal, assuming it actually works as advertised.
