Motorola Droid explodes, almost takes a guy's ear off

Here's something you really don't want happening when you're on the phone: your phone blowing up and nearly taking your ear off. But that's just what happened to one unfortunate Motorola Droid user.

"Aron Embry said he was making a call on his new Motorola Droid 2 phone when he heard a loud pop, then his ear started bleeding.

Embry told, 'I heard a pop. I didn't feel any pain initially. I pulled the phone down. I felt something dripping. I realized that it probably was blood. I went into the house and as I got into the bathroom and once I got to the mirror and saw it, it was only then I kinda looked at my phone and noticed the screen had appeared to burst outward.'

The 30-year-old getting stitches but doctors said he didn't suffer any damage to his hearing."

Yikes! It's a pretty freak accident, so I wouldn't go throwing away your Droid just yet. But you know, just to be safe, maybe it's time to snag a Bluetooth headset.
