Image of the Day: impossibly huge supercell

Check out the tree in the bottom right corner and you'll begin to grasp the immensity of this storm. Electrician Sean Heavey shot 400 frames as the supercell tore through Montana in late July at speeds reaching 85 mph. It took three of those images to piece together this gorgeous panorama, shedding light on the least common and potentially most dangerous type of storm.
