French robot Romeo designed to love the elderly

The French are finally getting in on the "robots designed to help the elderly" game with the announcement of the new Romeo humanoid robot.

Designed by France's Aldebaran Robotics, the team that gave us the Nao robot, Romeo will be equipped with articulated feet, a composite leg exoskeleton, a four-vertebra backbone, and speech recognition, all in the service of caring for the elderly. The company hopes to have the robot ready for commercial use by next March for around $330,000 each.
