Image of the Day: Crowd-sourcing astronomy

Google Sky is great when you want to see images from NASA or the Hubble Telescope. But what about a way to share images of space taken by individuals around the world?

This is where Slooh comes in. Slooh "offers the public Internet-based access to a global network of observatories, and a diverse and constantly growing collection of telescopic viewing and photography "missions." And they have just joined forces with Google Sky.

So the next time you visit Google Sky, you will be able to access tons of photographs taken by users just like you.
