Those of you vegetarians with a love of homegrown food but lacking a green thumb can take heart, Docomo's new Garden Sensor will ensure that your veggies turn out picture perfect.
When the tiny sensor stick is inserted into soil it has the ability to measure moisture levels and sunlight, at which point the data is sent wirelessly via the Internet to DoCoMo where gardening experts then render expert advice on the nurturing of your crop via email to your mobile phone. The sensors, tentatively priced between $20-$30, will be deployed on a trial basis in Japan until 2011.
