Snail cooking device is like a full stovetop you can take with you

The Snail is a portable induction heater that makes you rethink the whole idea of a stove. You see, it uses magnets to stick itself onto the side of pots, pans and mugs. it then heats them up from the side, no stovetop required.

The design is by Peter Alwin, and it won this year's Electrolux Design Lab competition. It may or may not actually turn into a real product, but I sure hope it does. Imagine the possibilities with this thing: hot soup at the park, a nice chili while camping, or a stir fry on a ski lift. When you can stick a stove in your backpack, it really opens up your culinary options.
