Mobile treadmill is the eco-friendly city vehicle the Segway wants to be

The new Tread-Walk personal mobility vehicle is not only a boon to the elderly community but it's better than a Segway due to its ability to actually exercise your body while you travel the city.

Developed by the Fujie Lab at Japan's Waseda University, the mobile treadmill allows natural movement while amplifying the speed of the person walking 1.5 to 3 times. While it may look a bit unwieldy at first glance (it's still in the prototype phase), due to its practicality and effectiveness, expect to see something like this on the streets soon.
