Fancy-pants low-energy lightbulbs have a distinctive look, with their tubes coiling around in a tight spiral. But really, there's no good reason they should all look like that. In theory, they could be arranged in any which way.
And with the Plumen 001, they are. This sexy lightbulb clearly isn't meant to be hidden by a lampshade. In fact, it's designed to be long enough to stick out from a traditional lamp, making its presence known. It's a neat idea, and I'd love to see more bulb makers getting creative with their designs.
