Consider this a PSA: if you haven't claimed your free case for your iPhone 4 yet, you only have until September 30th to do so. Apple is discontinuing its iPhone 4 case program with the claim that the problem is smaller than it previously thought.
It's no surprise that Apple isn't going to give out free iPhone cases forever, but what's most interesting here is the language: "We now know that the iPhone 4 antenna attenuation issue is even smaller than we originally thought."
Really? What's changed? Have very few people requested a free case? Is Apple just in denial? Were consumers overreacting?
There have been rumors that a revised antenna for the iPhone 4 is on the way. Maybe the company has something up its sleeve along those lines — the problem not being so large because it's being fixed.
Either way, it'll be interesting to see if Apple can finally put all these antenna woes to rest.
