Don't expect a lot of sound to come out of these wall-mounted speakers — they are positively speechless. In fact, they're not speakers at all. These Typhonics SP-Tiles must've been designed by contrarians, because instead of pumping out the tunes, these foam tiles are supposed to do a pretty good job of deadening sound.

We like the subtle humor incorporated within these tricky acoustical foam tiles. They're easy to attach to the wall with double-sided tape and included special wallpaper to keep your landlord happy when it's time to remove them. Too bad they cost $54 apiece, because we're thinking just five of them on the wall might not do a whole lot of sound dampening.

Still, we'd like to attach a few dozen of these to our home theater walls, to keep those whiny neighbors from complaining so much.
