Robotic fish guides schools away from danger

There's lots of stuff underwater that we humans have done that are bad news for fish. Be it turbines or massive, horrifying oil spills, we really make it hard for fish to live normal fishy lives. That's why researchers at NYU-Poly's Dynamical Systems Laboratory have created this robot fish.

This little guy is designed to biomimick various fish and guide them out of harms way. Powering itself on energy from small vibrations underwater, it could go for days without surfacing. For each species of fish a new model would need to be programmed, but this could be an innovative way of keeping some sea life safe from humanities neverending onslaught of destruction.
