We're still in the middle of the 2010 World Cup, but countries are already lining up with big promises if they're given hosting duties for the 2022 tournament. And Qatar is taking things really seriously.
Their proposal involves building three entirely new soccer stadiums as well as updating two existing stadiums. All of them would use solar energy to keep the stadiums cool and keep them as close to carbon-neutral as possible.
Each design is completely different and unique. And with the World Cup having never been staged in the Middle East, they might just have a shot at getting the tourney. They'll find out when FIFA announces where the games will be on December 2 of this year.
