Nintendo 3DS handheld does 3D right — no glasses required

Nintendo just unveiled its newest handheld console at E3, and its got a pretty cool trick up its sleeve: 3D. Called the Nintendo 3DS, the new handheld even has a camera that can take 3D pictures, and it'll be able to play 3D movies. The best part: you never have to wear any stupid glasses.

All the 3D will appear on the top 3.5-inch widescreen display, while a lower, square-shaped touchscreen on the bottom is in 2D. Other hardware differences from the previous Nintendo DS: a new analog stick, a 3D depth-control slider and home and start buttons moved to the bottom of the unit. Presumably it'll be compatible with all your flat-looking, two-dimensional existing DS games.
