Despite the fact that tablets haven't really caught on in Japan before this year, the country's love affair with the iPad has reached epic proportions as exampled by a doctor who recently decided the device was so cool he needed to use it for live surgery.
The surgeon from Kobe University actually had his staff hold the iPad displaying an image of the patient's internal organs as he operated and adjusted the image through a plastic covering. This is probably the best advertisement Apple could ever hope for in terms of the device's potential adoption in the medical arena. You can see video of the iPad surgery as it happened here.
