Concept jump rope charges AA batteries in 20 minutes

Most of us spend far too much time sitting on our duffs either watching TV, playing video games, or simply wasting time online. If only there was a way that forced us to exercise before we could get our tech fix. That's the idea behind the E-Rope, a battery charging jump rope concept that can juice up four AA rechargeable batteries with about 20 minutes of high-energy exercise.

To tie it in to your tech leisure, all you need to do is replace the batteries in your TV remote or Wiimote with the rechargeable type, then every time they run low you'll be forced to get the jump rope out before you can continue.

This could be great for parents who want to get their ever expanding children to just move a bit. Simply hide all of the batteries in the house except a few depleted rechargeable AAs and the E-Rope, giving them an instant incentive for getting off the couch and exercising.

I'm not sure if the 20-minute charge time is realistic, as even a regular wall powered charger normally takes much longer than that. Still, this looks like a concept worth exploring further.
