Do you have trouble sleeping and can't figure out why? The Tanita Sleep Scan SL-501 is designed to help solve that mystery. It's a mat that you place under your bedding, and it uses a vibration microphone to measure your body motion, heart rate and breathing patterns. It stores all this data on an SD card which you can then plug into your computer for analysis by the accompanying software.
Of course, it's not entirely clear how an analysis of your sleeping patterns will help you sleep better. If you're stressed out because of work, seeing that you toss and turn a lot between the hours of 2 and 5 a.m. will probably be information you already knew. But hey, who knows? Maybe it's just the data you need to get a good night's sleep.
