Here's a feature that Hollywood doesn't want to see become standard on Blu-ray players: the ability to copy HD movies from Blu-ray discs to your home server. But that's just what the new Kaleidescape M300 and M500 do. They'll import any Blu-ray, DVD or CD that you wish onto your server for playback later.
The catch? Well, there are two of them. The first is that it will require you to have the physical disc in the player to play back the ripped versions, which sort of defeats the entire purpose of ripping. The second is the price: the M330 will set you back $2,495 with the M500 running $3,995. Yeah, I think I'll stick to normal Blu-ray players, thanks.
