Doesn't this coffee cup remind you of something Darth Vader would use to drink his morning cup o' joe? We think so, but designer Tom Fereday was actually thinking green when he created his Une Coffee Cup.

Fereday's 100% recyclable concept is as simple as it gets. Made entirely from black polypropylene and a single mold, the cup has plastic ribbing on the sides so you don't need one of those cardboard thingies to keep from scalding your hand. Also, the lid is on a hinge, ensuring the whole thing gets recycled.

As part of the Betacup challenge to find the best waste-reducing design, Fereday is just one of over 1,500 entrants vying for the $20,000 prize. Go here to check out some of the other submissions.
