iPad runs Windows 95, but why?

Okay, we know the iPad can't do enough to suit uber-geeks, but here's something it can do: run Windows 95. Don't be looking to pick up this trick at the App Store anytime soon, though. The gearheads at KamaGames hack into their iPad, installed a Bochs x86 emulator, and then shoehorned Windows 95 in there, running just like we remember it — slow.

Just look how long it takes for the start menu to pop up. Notice also how the guys have figured out a way to deal with that cursor/hover issue on the iPad (just offset by a few hundred pixels). We're just wondering why they envelop their once-gorgeous iPad in an ugly shiny cover, a practice similar to those people who insist on leaving their lampshades wrapped in crackling, tacky plastic.

So what's next? Windows 7 on the iPad? This we gotta see.
