Freshness timer strips help you to avoid rotten food

Have you ever found a container of food buried in the deep recesses of your fridge, that's so far gone you can't even recognize what it once was? Tossing out furry food is an easy call, but what about stuff that still looks pretty good, but you can't remember whether it's been there a week, or a month?

Most people will use the good old sniff test, but relying on your nose can be pretty unreliable. So designer Yeom Ha-na has come up with the Foodmer, a custom programmed expiration date reminder for all your fresh food. Details about how it works are pretty slim, but presumably, you can program each strip with a freshness duration, and the red line will slowly get longer until its toss time.

This looks like a great idea, especially if you have lots of people in a house sticking stuff in the fridge, making it hard to keep track of how old things are.
