AILA robot prepares to carry humanity into unemployment

The Hanover Messe 2010 was the setting for the debut of a new, uniquely useful robot called AILA. Developed by DFKI Bremen, the robot uses a system called SemProM (Semantic Product Memory) along with its enhanced visuals to determine how to handle objects of varying size and weight.

DFKI hopes to have the robot working alongside humans in a commercial environment by 2020. You can see video of the AILA robot in action here.
