We with overactive gag reflexes dread the sniff test of a pitcher of milk. Technology saves us again with this magic milk jug, detecting sour milk using a fancy pH sensor in its base. If the milk's gone bad, that LCD display on the side changes from "fresh" to "sour," eliminating the need to fill your lungs with all-pervasive stench.
British dairy Cravendale stumbled upon this useful concept when its researchers were poking around those creepy crawlies that turn milk sour. The company's not sure what it'll do with this idea, but we're hoping if such a stench sentinel is released, it'll at least have a lid on top. Better yet, make the jug shrink so milk will stay fresh for a week longer.
