Blind man able to see again through his tongue

British soldier Craig Lundberg was blinded in Iraq in 2007. Now, he's able to "see" with his tongue thanks to a prototype BrainPort device that turns the video his glasses collect into electrical impulses he feels with his tongue.

It's pretty amazing stuff, really. He says it feels like pins and needles that forms shapes, so he's able to get a feel for his surroundings. He can reach out and grab a glass in front of him that he couldn't see before. It's not getting his normal vision back, but the impact on his life is tremendous. Here's hoping these get made available for more people in the near future.
