WIND Robot System may usher in the era of battle machines

It's clear that Japanese roboticists are on the fast curve toward making robots a real part of our everyday lives, but the question is will these robots help or hurt us? That question is particularly salient when one examines the new WIND Robot System from FuRo.

The system allows anyone wearing a networked harness to wirelessly control the movements of any number of humanoid or service robots. Such a mechanism could indeed be used for anything from healthcare assistance mechanisms to war machines. You can see video of the WIND Robot System in action here.
