Radical DeltaWing racing rocket could be Indy car of the future

Today's Indy cars could be obsolete if this bad-ass proposal is accepted by the Izod IndyCar series. The hunt for the next generation of open-wheel race cars is on, and this design from racecar builder DeltaWing made jaws drop all over the Chicago Auto Show this week.

This is not just some far-fetched fantasy — its design team has a credible racing pedigree, including a former lead designer at Lola. But really, can you see these land-based aircraft zipping around the track at the Indianapolis 500? Hell, yeah!
