Imogen Heap wears collar that twitters, pic-displaying purse
Nobody can say singer Imogen Heap doesn't stay in touch with her fans — she literally wears them on her sleeve. Check out this dress she wore to the Grammys, streaming her fans' tweets on an insane-looking collar. Feeding that collar was an iPod Touch sewn into the side of her Fendi handbag. The iPod's screen also displayed images her fans sent along with their tweets.
It's no surprise that Heap would wear such a "Twitdress" — she's known in some circles as the "queen of social media," because she enlisted the support of her friends on Twitter and other social networks to help her write the lyrics for songs on her latest Grammy award-winning album.
We're just wondering how she filtered the images on that handbag of hers. It reminds us of a time when we got a digital picture frame and invited millions of Internet users to send their pictures to it. After one look at the steady torrent of obnoxious shots, we felt like we needed to be hosed down. But then, the Grammy Awards event tends to feature unpredictability, so maybe that was part of the fun.
While we love Imogen's technical tour de force from 2005, "Hide and Seek", never mind her. Follow us.
