What happens when you lock a flock of 40 zebra finches into a closed museum space with a couple of live Gibson Les Paul electric guitars and other various musical instruments? Some might call it music, but unless these birds break into a rousing chorus of "The Star-Spangled Banner," we're not about to start calling it art.
On the other hand, maybe the phrase "Bird lives" has suddenly taken on new meaning. Charlie Parker probably would have liked this art installation by French artiste Céleste Boursier-Mougenot. Study up on your Ornithology, because the birds start flying and inadvertently jamming for real on February 27 at The Curve, part of the Barbican Art Gallery in London.
