Digital Origami Tigers signal the beginning of the geek year

Designed by Australian design firm LAVA, these Digital Origami Tigers were commissioned to raise awareness of tigers as an endangered species around the world.

Using environmentally friendly low power LEDs, and constructed using aluminum and barrisol, the tigers are a striking sight day or night. And, since this is the Chinese year of the tiger, the sculptures are culturally well timed. You can see more images detailing the construction design of the sculptures here.
