CES Friday: Android-powered microwaves and other ridiculous gadgetry
Walking around the convention floor, you frequently run into gadgets that make you think, "Yep, I'm at CES." Need an example? Take a gander at that microwave up there running Android. Sure, we knew it was coming. That doesn't mean that it isn't kind of funny to see a microwave running Android, though.
The company behind the unholy union, Touch Revolution, also tossed the mobile OS on a washing machine. In theory, that'd also mean apps that would make sense on either, making for more robust options all around. An app for nuking hot pockets, anyone?
That's not the only craziness we saw. See that first item in the gallery below? Yeah, those headphones have a little surprise for you. Check them out!

Here's an odd set of headphones, because really only your neighbors will be "enjoying" them. Each cup on the Vizio Lifestyle headphones has an LCD on it that display information on what you're listening to, and probably throw out a lot of light to boot. It's only a concept for Vizio at the moment, though Gizmodo reports that they are in fully working order.

If only Dick Tracy could see this. Hailing from Canada, Allerta's inPulse smartwatch is a Blackberry you wear on your wrist. It supports caller ID, emails and texts, and Blackberry Messenger all wrapped up in a brushed metal body with a leather strap. No hard price or date on this one yet.

Here's a new way to steer your remote-controlled flier: via iPhone. Parrot's AR.Drone works in just that way, and you even get to see a video feed right on your iPhone — your very own spy drone! No pricing until it's released, which should be sometime this year.

Did you get a little jealous back there when you saw the wristwatch-style Blackberry? Well, it's not as elegant, but you could always strap your iPhone to your wrist with this Phubby Wristband. Yep, 2010 will truly be the age of wrist-mounted gadgetry! It's only $13, so you probably won't feel too bad after you only wear it once.

To be honest, we're really just tossing the LG Lotus Elite on here because it's square shape captured our eyes. It's not entirely for looks, either, as the Lotus features an external screen that gives you more options than your average cell and a swiveling body to make the camera easier to use. All that, and it'll only be $99.
