How many times have you cursed the electricity gods because there's no extension cord to be found right when you really need one. This problem would be solved for all time if only every power outlet were like the Rambler Socket: an outlet with an extension cord hiding in the wall behind.
From the mind of designer Meysam Movahedi, the Rambler Socket holds 5 feet of power cable, ready to pop out of the wall when you need a little more wiggle room while vacuuming, or for when that lamp isn't quite in the right place. A short tug activates the the spring mechanism to retract the cord. Of course, the Rambler is just a concept right now, but one we'd love to see in pretty much all homes of the future.
