LG unveils 'world's thinnest' LCD panel. Sure, whatever

Is the race to make the world's thinnest TV still on? If so, this 42-inch LCD panel from LG wants a shot at the title, measuring just 0.1 inch thick. It didn't sacrifice picture quality for slimness either: The set has 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. At 8.8 pounds, it's easy to lug home, too — if it ever finds its way into a store. We should know more when we see it in Vegas at CES early next year.

We love us thin TVs, but aren't today's flat panels thin enough? Like the race to build the world's biggest flat panel, we've pretty much passed the point where there's a practical difference if our TVs shave off another inch or two. Unless you can think of one…?
