Taiwan unveils Roppie, the dancing home service robot

The Industrial Technology Research Institute recently showed off its new Roppie Home Service Robot at the Taipei World Trade Center in Taiwan. The robot is designed to help elderly people, as well as those with disabilities, by taking care of daily household tasks.

The Roppie can carry various items, pour a glass of water and even bring you the morning newspaper. In addition to taking on the more mundane duties involved in housework, the Roppie can also dance. Check out video of the Roppie's moves, accompanied by a similarly dance-challenged human, here.
