Sony is betting hard on 3D being the future of home entertainment. Despite my skepticism that the whole thing is a gimmick that doesn't deliver much in the way of value, you've gotta give them credit for really going for it.
This is Sony's new 360-degree 3D display prototype, one that shows a stereoscopic, 24-bit color image that measures 96x128 pixels. What makes it interesting is the fact that you can view it from 360 degrees without using any glasses. The plan is, presumably, to make much bigger versions of this for use as 3D photo frames or TVs. We'll see, Sony. We'll see.
