I feel like I'm writing about some fancy new steampunk mod when looking at the picture above, but — nope — that's the steering system that Toyota has come up with for its FT-EV II concept car. It's not a proper steering wheel as you can see, and the company says that the vehicle itself doesn't have pedals. That means you'd control your car entirely by using that, well, thing that you see above.
As for the FT-EV II itself, it's designed for short range travel and connectivity, which — if this concept vehicle ever finds itself on a real street — would include the kind of features we see in a system such as Microsoft's Sync, we imagine.
