Bugathermo boots made for more than walking

Columbia Sportwear has come up with a nifty pair of boots that anyone who, come October, starts to prepare for a long, cold winter should consider. In my experience, adventures in footwear and technology don't always work so well, although it doesn't stop people from trying — and, sometimes, succeeding.

But, as is the case on most Monday mornings, I digress. The Bugathermo has a built-in heating element that can roast your feet as you go about your outdoor duty during those grim winter months. There are three heat settings to fiddle with on the ankle, which give you anything between three-and-a-half- and eight-hours'-worth of toasty tootsies, as well as a waterproof upper, and you recharge the boots by plugging them into the mains via the DC port situated just above the heel. Costing $250, they're available now.
