KDDI gives us yet another taste of what they have in store for the future of cell phones with the new Polaris. Described by the company as a kind of phone-meets-robot, the device would sync with a round cradle that closes when not in use.
While the user is away, the cradle (the robot part of the unit) would collect data to improve the user's lifestyle such as healthy food suggestions, weather information and business news updates. When attached to the cradle, the phone part would act as a kind of remote control, allowing the user to manipulate other devices around the house, such as a television set. You can see video of the concept device in action here.
