Here's the first hardware controlled directly from the screen of the iPhone: the Griffin iTrip iPhone/iPod FM transmitter. We're no big fans of previously available iterations of the iTrip, transmitting audio from an iPhone or iPod to your car's FM radio, because the result is so noisy it sounds like someone's frying bacon in the background. Maybe this one sounds better.
So why should we care about this $50 attachment? It's the first of many hardware accessories to be controlled by the iPhone or iPod Touch, and it's looking good.
