SIngular block knives cut the price of kitchen utensils

A decent set of knives is obligatory for anyone who likes hanging out in the kitchen with raw ingredients, but the price can often be extortionate. Aaron Root's concept for J.A. Henkle consists of a knife in a single wooden block.

There are several sizes of knife to choose from — I reckon the amateur chef can get away with four: a large chopping knife; small paring knife; one for filletting; and a bread knife. The block has magnets embedded in the wood so that you can either add the blocks together to make one large one, or attach them to a metal surface somewhere in the kitchen to save space.
