Most weddings in the West are designed to take place "before the sight of God," but in Japan couples are now making their marriage vows under the fierce gaze of a "new" god--a giant robot. Japan's T&G wedding planners held a contest in which 500 entrants competed for the right to be married in front of the new giant Gundam robot in Tokyo.
Yesterday the winning couple took their vows at the foot of Gundam and then, with newborn baby in hand, the family deeply bowed in unison to the Gundam robot. You've got to hand it to Japan, even in matters of bowing before our future robot masters, the country remains ahead of the curve. You can see more images of the surreal ceremony here.
