Look Ma, no hands! The Multimodal Brain Orchestra debuts in Prague

Most musicians spend years training their bodies to draw beautiful sounds from their instruments, but not the Multimodal Brain Orchestra. This group of musicians from the University Pompeu Fabra in Spain create both music and video through a direct reading of their brain waves, working in concert with an 'emotional conductor'.

Their debut work Xmotion saw its public premiere on Thursday at the Science Beyond Fiction Conference in Prague. I would have expected the result to be chaotic at best, but going by this video of the final rehearsal, the music seems to be pretty interesting and dramatic.
