Nothing says "class" like putting wood on a gadget. It makes it look nice, more expensive, and better constructed. Sure, wood doesn't really make gadgets perform any better than regular plastic, but it just looks so natural. And you can't argue with natural.
Skullcandy knows this, which is why they've unveiled their wooden earbuds for people going for that natural look. Unfortunately, you'll pay dearly for that extra finish, as these earbuds are a whopping $99, which seems a touch unreasonable for what you're getting. But hey, wood! How can you say no?
